About the Founder & CEO of JVH Safety Consulting Inc.
Vic Harrison, SET, CET, CRSP, P.GSC, NCSO
Vic Harrison brings forward over 28 years of health and safety experience in the construction, industrial, mining, farming and health care sectors. Vic’s recent professional career was spent as a Health & Safety Inspector with the Ministry of Labour ensuring workplaces were kept healthy and safe. During his career with the Ministry Vic played an instrumental role providing health & safety mediation as well as labour dispute resolution. Vic also has previous experience with safety program and policy/procedure development. Vic has spent 15 years providing Health & Safety Instruction, dedicated 20 plus years coaching and mentoring students & athletes, served as Director with a sport organization.
Vic believes that a vibrant health & safety program is a good business investment. He brings forward years of experience conducting inspections & audits, accident investigations, consulting with Constructors & Employers, creating health & safety programs, resolving health & safety concerns. He has the ability to effectively evaluate health & safety programs, recommend action to keep workers safe & at the same time effect due diligence for employers and supervisors.

Investigations
Accidents and incidents are rarely foreseen.
Investigating such occurrences provides a picture of what happened in order to take steps to prevent recurrence. Investigation reports are often a compulsory component in adhering with health and safety legislation. Enforcement authorities inclusive of the Ministry of Labour are summoned to investigate more serious occurrences to determine compliance with health & safety legislation. We provide independent comprehensive accident/incident investigation on behalf of the Employer and professionally interact with enforcement authorities. In the event of litigation we can assist in the position of Expert Investigator and Expert Witness.

Good health and safety performance in a workplace is dependent on a health and safety program being in place.
The health and safety program in conjunction with a health and safety policy is a plan to address and control all hazards in the workplace. Effective programs address legislative requirements and provide a measure of effective evaluation by ongoing scheduled audits.
